Quality you can expect
Video comes back exactly as TikTok serves it: H.264 in an MP4 container, at the original vertical resolution — 576×1024 on every clip tested — with AAC audio. Nothing is re-encoded and nothing is upscaled, so the file matches what plays in the app.
What doesn't work
Stated plainly, because finding out after three failed attempts is worse.
- If a video ever comes back carrying the watermark, that is a bug rather than the intended behaviour — send us the link and it gets fixed.
- There is no MP3 option. TikTok audio extraction currently returns an empty file upstream, so the format toggle is hidden here rather than handing you zero bytes.
- Private videos, and videos from private accounts, cannot be fetched.
- Deleted or unavailable videos fail with a clear error rather than a broken file.
- Profile, sound, and tag pages are not videos — paste a link to a single post.
- Photo (carousel) posts are not supported. One video per download.
How the watermark is avoided
The watermark is not cropped, blurred, or filtered out. Those are the usual tricks, and all three cost you picture quality — cropping loses the edges of the frame, blurring leaves a visible smear exactly where the logo was, and both require re-encoding the whole video. The result is worse than what you started with.
Instead the video is pulled in its clean form and passed through untouched, so the file you get is the original quality rather than a repaired copy of a marked one. If a video ever does arrive with the watermark still on it, that is a bug — send the link and it gets fixed.
Why there is no MP3 option here
The audio path that works for YouTube and SoundCloud returns an empty file for TikTok. Rather than leave the toggle on the page and let you discover that after the download completes, it is hidden on this page specifically.
If you need the sound from a TikTok, the practical route is to download the MP4 and extract the audio locally. That is a worse answer than a working button, and it is the accurate one.
